We have timed it so that everyone can make it to the last tube with ease on these two nights -
although some of us will hang around after the gigs each night and no doubt acoustic guitars will still be in use.
On Sunday we will reconvene at lunchtime for a less formal get together with some acoustic music.
We might be able to have some video too if we can sort out the projector!
For anyone that has not yet sorted accommodation,
Scott and I have two spare twin rooms booked at the Belgrave Hotel at 9-13 Clapham Road, Kennington SW9
for the Saturday night that are available BUT we need to cancel them at the end of this week if they are
not being used so please shout up if you want to take them off our hands.
The cost is £95 per room - or £47.50 a person if you share with someone.
Scott and I are staying there both nights and will be able to assist people with travel
(it's a short taxi ride) and directions etc.
A couple of names on this list are people who are brining along others -
if that applies to you please can we have the names of everyone coming with you.
That's firstly so we can make sure we have a complete list of people coming
(as this isn't an open access event that just anyone can turn up to) so we can control numbers
and avoid having to turn anyone away and secondly so we can make you a named laminate as aid to
meeting others at the event as a momento to keep. There's no problem with brining friends and non-NYAS /
Rustlist / UK Shore people along - just let me have the names.
Others receiving this will have expressed an interest in the Shepard Fairey / Henry Diltz print -
http://www.nyas.org.uk/nyasauctionpage2010.htm
if you are not attending and want to bid on that please let me know.
As a guide I really am not expecting this to go for anything less than £150.
At that price I would buy it myself (although I already have one) and this really
is a collectable item in both the Neil Young and urban art communities.
We have a number of raffle prizes in (for which thanks to those here that donated)
but obviously more would be welcome - feel free to bring them along with you on the day but it would be helpful
to know in advance what is coming so we can plan effectively.
As usual we will have some merchandise available including t-shirts and some NYAS goodies - so bring a bit
more than your beer money! All profits will be going to the Bridge School -
ttp://www.bridgeschool.org/  so please help us to raise a worthy amount to pass on to
Neil and Pegi for the cause.
As ever, if you have any queries just let me know. I'll send out some more updates before the Convention weekend
if needed but if not - see you there.
Paul

3 days of Peace Beer & Music - Arrangements are almost complete for the NYAS 2010 London Convention, over the weekend of September 17 to 19. We have a fine line-up of musicians for you to listen to and this year we have extended the electric performances to include Friday night, when the programme starts at 7.15pm.

The Friday line-up includes Harry O, The Mick Kavanagh Band, Jules Gray, and headliners David James & Inside Out.

pauldocker@hotmail dot com,

This will be a great weekend of music and friendship, and if you are swithering I would urge you to take the plunge and sign up – you won’t regret it. All auction and raffle proceeds as well as all other surplus funds will be donated to The Bridge School. Last time around we raised a brilliant $3000 and with your help we hope to better that this time. Things are moving along steadily.   Scott.

Address: 8 Canterbury Crescent. Brixton. London.   SW9 7QD

In celebration of Neil's upcoming 65th birthday, the 5th NYAS Convention will be held over the weekend of September 17th to 19th. We will return (for the fourth time) to our spiritual home at The Canterbury Arms, close to Brixton Academy in London. There will be a full and varied programme over the three days including the following:

Friday evening: Meet and greet. Individual acoustic and full band performances.

Saturday: Merchandise, guitar/song workshop, films, raffle, quiz, prize crossword, open mic session, afternoon buffet, culminating in an evening concert with several bands.

Sunday: Lunch time guitar/song workshop and open mic session, followed by fond farewells.

Look out for possible guest appearances and surprises The cost of the weekend is a minimum donation of only £20. Good value for what should be a wonderful weekend, and all for a good cause, as any surplus will be donated to the Bridge School.

The overall organisation of the weekend is in the very capable hands of Paul Docker, and a splendid time is guaranteed for all. If you wish to attend, you MUST let Paul know and if you would like to play, don’t hesitate to come forward. Please register as soon as you can, as it helps us to get organised, and also because the 2005 event sold out in advance. Registrations are now open!

Also, anyone who would like to be involved in any capacity (and we can use lots of help) please drop Paul or Scott a line.

PS There will be a raffle running over the weekend, with tickets only £1. Donations for prizes would be very welcome. Anyone who cannot manage to attend will be able to buy tickets in advance via email or normal mail. Contacts as follows:
